Mark started his career in advertising and marketing in 1982 as an Account Executive with Buzz Barton & Associates in Oak Brook, Illinois. At the time, the agency was well known in both the home builder and mail order catalog industries, but tough economic times meant the agency had a strong desire to pursue opportunities in other industries.

Automotive soon became the agency’s passion and Mark worked to develop the agency’s reputation in the industry. Working directly with some of the most respected car dealership families in the Chicagoland area, Buzz Barton & Associates quickly became one of the leaders in automobile dealership and dealer group advertising.

Mark purchased the agency from L. G. “Buzz” Barton in 1989. At that time, he and his partner changed the agency’s name to BB&A/Ad-Dimensions. The agency continued to build its reputation in the car industry as well as the successful development of a recruitment advertising division.

Recognizing the major changes that the Internet was making to the advertising industry, Mark incorporated a new business in 1997 called BBA & Beyond. The new agency was created to explore the new opportunities in Internet marketing and web site development.

In 2002, the successful partnership at BB&A/Ad-Dimensions came to an end and was formally dissolved in good standing with the media. Mark hired most of the old agency’s loyal employees to staff BBA & Beyond, while the agency’s automobile dealer and dealer group clients agreed to switch to the new agency.

Throughout his career, Mark has insisted that outstanding customer service be the cornerstone of each of the agency’s client/agency relationships. He also believes that an outstanding advertising agency must also build strong working relationships with the media. Part of that relationship is the trust that is built by paying the media on time---especially during tough economic times. Mark takes pride in the reputation the agency has established with the media.

In June of 2007, Mark moved the agency from Oak Brook to Naperville. The agency is a member of the Chicago Auto Trade Association and is recognized as an Accredited Business with the Better Business Bureau.

During his 30 plus years in the advertising industry, Mark and his wife Sally raised three children. They reside in Naperville and have become empty nesters as the kids pursue their independence.
